Gorillas in the mist
Ok, it’s not quite gorillas, it’s actually the Pyrénées mountains - as seen from my house - they have been absent for a few days, mostly due to the French monsoon season, but today it was absolutely beautiful - blue skies and hot sunshine.
I was up fairly early as hounourable son, n°2 had a rugby tournament today so I dropped him off early as we had planned a day with the family, who were visiting Mwahahah.
The good part of the recent heavy rain, storms and tornadoes - yes tornadoes - I kid you not missus, was that there was so much humidity in the air, it transformed the valley of the Garonne river into a shimmering, swirling sea of mist as soon as the heat of the morning sun hit it - absolutely beautiful.
Had a great day, up to La Pente d’eau de Montech, which is a unique feat of engineering, sampled by none less than the great Rick Stein when he did his trip from the Atlantic to the Med in a narrow boat - passing not 200 metres from my house, the tinker …
The other photos I took today, will be on my other photoblog which neither contain the word “One” nor “pic” nor “a day” but which I add to as and when with as many pics as I like - so there.
I’ll also explain what La Pente d’eau is and what it does …
Hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable 1st May :-)
